(More customer reviews)Every year I hear the same complaint from students: The flashcard printing utility in the accompanying CD is worthless: significant words from the vocabulary sections of the text have been omitted. There is only one explanation why this omission remains: the book's publishing team hasn't diligently overseen this product. As there are thousands of words to learn, one has to resort to hand-writing flashcards. An enormous waste of time, making this an ineffective text for learning medical terminology!

The sixth edition of Medical Terminology A Word Building Approachis organized by body systems and specialty areas. Its primary approach, is the word-building technique . Combining forms and word roots are integrated into each chapter of the text, according to body system or specialty area. Suffixes and prefixes are presented in Chapters 2 and 3 and are then reinforced throughout the text. The eponym section is not the best I've seen, but overall, this book is a must-have! It's a major time saver!
