(More customer reviews)I shopped around for quite a while to find the best software that would aide me in learning German. This product looked the best and it did not dissapoint. It can be a little overwhelming at first but with the review flashcards, learning is much faster and easier. I would definitely suggest this Berlitz product for any language learning.

(More customer reviews)I have found this book's layout to be very clear and easy to follow. The introduction teaches in detail how German spelling are supposed to sound by providing english words that appoximate the sounds. This book seems to contain grammar lessons that are more extensive than those found in the popular "Teach Yourself" course. This book serves duly as a workbook in that you can write your answers to the exercises in the spaces provided and refer to the correct answers in the back of the book. My biggest gripe about the book is that there were no pictures. I love pictures!

(More customer reviews)I have read reviews that say this book is limited in its scope.Well, it is limited,and for good reason.This book is meant for one reason only, to give you full conjugation of 501 of the most common verbs in all tenses.If this book had included a broader scope of info it would not be so easy to use.This book is a must have for all serious language students.The one other book I strongly recommend is "750 verbs |GERMAN| and their uses". That book covers the many many meanings a verb can have and how it can change meaning with various prepositions and also gives numerous example sentences per verb/meaning.

(More customer reviews)This book is superb! I am married to a native German speaker and need all the help I can get. I am writing as a self taught German student that is trying to learn all as fast as possible. This book starts off slow with very useful vocabulary. There is an excellent pronunciation section which is very necessary with German. I very much like how new vocabulary and workbook pages are mixed together. Everything is index so perfectly so it is easy to find help within the book. All new vocabulary have translation so there is no need for an extra dictionary with this book. The presentation is very well done. It is a basic level book (as the title mentions) so it is great for new students or self taught students. The book can be used again and again for practice. There are so many words to learn and exercises to do making this book well worth the money. I am very sorry this book was not available when I began my studies! The author is very talented. Thanks to him for such a useful book and hopefully there will be more advanced books with audio programs in the future.
